24 hours of LAX operations

Nothing is simulated. Every taxi route is where the aircraft actually was, taken from its own ADS-B surface broadcasts and matched onto the taxiway network, a median 1.2 m from each measured fix. Runway use falls out of the data rather than being imposed on it: departures on 25R and 24L, arrivals on 24R and 25L.
Aircraft stop transmitting on stand, so one that goes quiet on the ground is held at its gate and drawn in dimmer gray, an inference rather than a measurement. Passengers are the one modelled figure: fleet-weighted seat counts by airline and aircraft type at a flat 84% load factor, cargo and business aviation excluded. The total, 186,060, runs about a tenth under the airport’s own average of 209,600 a day.
