Your Government

InteractiveFind the elected officials who represent a Los Angeles address, what their offices handle and how to contact them. The lookup runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent anywhere. Addresses are placed by parcel from the 2025 county assessment roll, rosters are checked against the official sources, and boundaries are verified against the county registrar's own precinct assignments. Where the November 2026 congressional map moves a block, both districts are shown. Open full screen · Get the data

Put this on your site

The card above is free to carry on any site: a neighborhood council's, a local paper's, a council office's. Paste this where the page should show it. An embedded card shows whatever the copy on basin.la shows, so it updates when we update the rosters.

<iframe src="https://basin.la/interactives/embed/la-your-government.html"
        title="Your Government, from The Basin"
        style="width:100%;border:0;min-height:400px" loading="lazy"
        allow="clipboard-write"></iframe>
<script>
addEventListener("message", function (e) {
  if (e.origin !== "https://basin.la" || !e.data ||
      e.data.type !== "basin-embed-height" || e.data.id !== "your-government") return;
  document.querySelectorAll("iframe").forEach(function (f) {
    if (f.contentWindow === e.source) f.style.height = e.data.height + "px";
  });
});
</script>

Two optional parameters go on the iframe src. ?theme=dark or ?theme=light pins the theme instead of following the reader's system, and ?nc= opens on one neighborhood council's shared seats, for example ?nc=silver-lake-nc. The card covers City of Los Angeles addresses and hands any other one to the county registrar's own lookup.

No key, no quota, no tracking, and nothing a reader types leaves their browser. The card carries a credit line to The Basin, and the credit must stay. Questions and corrections: data@basin.la.
