The Helicopter Map
Positions are community-received ADS-B from Airplanes.live, whose free API is documented as non-commercial use. Reception is incomplete and uneven: terrain shadows the canyons and the Santa Monica Mountains, so dark ground means no positions were received, which is not the same as no helicopter. An orbit is a geometric test on the track, not a mission, a call or a purpose, and 26% of positions meet none of the behavior definitions.
