The Feed

Los Angeles City Hall runs Instagram accounts: the mayor, the city attorney, the controller, and all fifteen council members, official and campaign. Every post they publish lands here, and the full archive back to , posts, is searchable below.

How this is collected

Captions, timestamps and engagement counts come from the officials’ public Instagram accounts, collected logged out, exactly as any visitor sees them. Official and campaign accounts are tracked separately because they behave differently. Engagement counts are as displayed at collection time and keep drifting upward on recent posts; the newest pages are re-read on every refresh.

Instagram pools a co-authored post’s engagement across every co-author, so collabs are credited to the account that owns them and marked. Posts with the like counter switched off are excluded from rankings rather than counted as zeros.

Photographs belong to the offices and campaigns that posted them; thumbnails here are small and every post links to the original on Instagram.
